Englewood Cliffs, N.J. – LG will ship a new smartphone this fall through T-Mobile after having announced more phones for Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint.

Sometime during the fall, T-Mobile will offer LG’s Optimus L9, a 4G Android 4.0 phone that’s only 0.36-inches thick and features premium metal trim, LG said. The 4G HSPA+21 phone also features dual-core 1GHz processor, 4.5-inch qHD Corning Gorilla Glass 2 display, Wi-Fi calling for making voice calls in locations with a weak or no cellular signal, 1080p video recording, 5-megapixel camera, simultaneous picture/video capture, and mobile hot spot capability to share a 4G connection with up to five Wi-Fi-enabled devices.

Like other L series phones, the L9 is built with squared-off shape for a more comfortable grip, a slimmer look, a more intuitive arrangement of keys, and metallic accents, LG said.

The phone will be T-Mobile’s highest end device from LG and LG’s first Android 4.0 phone for the carrier, a T-Mobile spokesperson said.

Other features include large 2,150mAh battery, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/a, SmartShare to share media wirelessly with other DLNA-enabled devices, and LG QuickMemo, which lets people use their finger to write, draw, or jot a memo directly on a captured screen for sharing as an attachment or URL or as a post to a social media site.

Other features include Bluetooth 3.0 + HS, Dolby Mobile audio enhancements, rear-facing camera with 2592 x 1944 resolution, and Cheese Shot, which snaps a picture when people in the picture say cheese.

The announcement follows LG’s announcement that AT&T and Sprint plan fall availability of the Android 4.0 LG Optimus G, which will be among the first LTE smartphones with quad-core CPUs in the industry.

The Optimus G features quad-core 1.5GHz processor, 4.7-inch 15:9 WXGA True HD IPSPlus display with 1,280 by 768 pixels, and 32GB of memory. The Optimus G also features cross-tasking, or Q Slide, which enables the display of two applications simultaneously on one screen. Because the entire screen of each app is displayed, a user can complete two tasks concurrently, such as sending a text message while watching a video.

Through Verizon, LG also recently began selling its 4G LTE Intuition “phablet” with 5-inch 4:3 HD display and stylus at $199.
